Brian Harrison, a member of the Texas House of Representatives, has taken to social media to express his views on several legislative matters. His recent tweets focus on issues ranging from student loan forgiveness programs to property tax legislation.
On May 20, 2025, Harrison criticized the Texas House’s attempt to pass President Biden’s student loan forgiveness program. He highlighted that this initiative includes provisions for “mental health professionals” involved in socially transitioning children. Harrison stated, “Proud to stand with other House conservatives in fighting back.” He further noted that Democrats control the Texas House and mentioned that developments are ongoing.
In another tweet posted shortly after, Harrison extended his gratitude towards fellow representatives who opposed the student loan program. He wrote, “Thank you @Toth_4_Texas, @brentmoney, @NateSchatzline, and @olcott4texas for fighting against this.”
Later on the same day, Harrison addressed what he described as falsehoods propagated by Democrats regarding property tax legislation. He announced his decision to release a list of seven property tax bills he had submitted to the Ways and Means Committee chaired by Trey Martinez Fischer (TMFtx). These bills aim to eliminate property taxes entirely. Despite having procedural authority under House rules, Harrison claimed that Fischer refused to hear any of these bills. He declared via social media: “DEMOCRAT LIES EXPOSED: I am releasing a list of my seven property tax bills referred to the Ways and Means Committee…”
