Brian Harrison, a Republican elected to the Texas State House in 2021 to represent the state’s 10th House district, has recently taken to social media to comment on redistricting and political developments in Texas.
On August 7, 2025, Harrison criticized Democratic lawmakers’ approach to redistricting, stating: “Democrats are being hypocrites on redistricting! I discussed on @FoxBusiness how Democrat state after Democrat state has been aggressively redistricting for the last decade. It’s time for Texas to act boldly!”
Later that day, he addressed recent events surrounding a quorum break in the Texas legislature. He wrote: “The national media is starting to report on the biggest part of the quorum break story: that Texas ‘Republicans’ HELPED THE DEMOCRATS flee the state!” (August 7, 2025).
In another post from August 7, Harrison emphasized Texas’s prominent role in national politics and reiterated his stance on redistricting. He stated: “The eyes of the whole world are on Texas. So, Texas must lead BOLDLY. I explained the need for Texas to redistrict – and the completely hypocrisy of the Democrats – with @BBCNews.”
Harrison assumed office following a special election in 2021 after Jake Ellzey vacated his seat. His comments come amid ongoing debates over legislative procedures and partisan strategies regarding district boundaries within both Texas and other states.
