Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district, used his social media platform on July 31, 2025, to comment on ongoing legislative developments and criticize both party leadership and proposed legislation.
In an early morning post, Harrison announced his appearance on a local radio show to discuss the state legislature’s special session. He wrote, “Joining the @treywareshow on @ktsanews at 7:00am CT with an update on the special session. (Hint: it’s not good.) Tune in!” (July 31, 2025).
Later that day, Harrison addressed what he described as partisan blame-shifting within Texas politics. In a tweet posted at 12:32 p.m., he stated, “The Liberal Austin Uniparty’s favorite thing to do is blame the Democrats for their failures. Don’t let them! If the Republican leadership of Texas wants redistricting they have the power to make it happen. The future of America is at stake! @Bannons_WarRoom @nataliegwinters” (July 31, 2025).
Harrison also criticized new property tax legislation under consideration by the Texas Senate. At 2:06 p.m., he warned constituents about misleading proposals: “Beware: fake “property tax cut” bills incoming!… We should be ELIMINATING property taxes… but this new Senate bill wont even reduce them… They’re using the old DC trick of calling a lower RATE of growth… a “cut.” Property taxes will still go UP. Texans deserve better!” (July 31, 2025).
Harrison was elected to represent Texas’s 10th House district in 2021 after Jake Ellzey vacated the seat.
