Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, has posted a series of tweets on August 1, 2025, addressing issues related to redistricting and property tax legislation in Texas.
In his first post at 15:19 UTC, Harrison criticized actions by Democratic leadership regarding the new House map. He stated, “The DEMOCRAT CO-CHAIR of the House redistricting committee is using his powerful position to blast the new map and call it a ‘power grab’ by President Trump. Reminder that 60% of the House Democrat Caucus was put in LEADERSHIP (vs only 40% of the Republican Caucus).”
Later that day at 15:59 UTC, Harrison called for immediate action on the redistricting vote. He wrote, “This should’ve already been handled during REGULAR session… No more delays. The committee has a quorum. Vote the map TODAY!”
At 16:14 UTC, Harrison addressed legislative inaction on property tax bills during the special session. He noted, “Unfortunately not. Number of property tax bills voted on by the Texas House this special session: 0 Number of property tax bills voted on by the Texas Senate this special session: 0”
Harrison succeeded Jake Ellzey as representative for Texas’s 10th House district after being elected in 2021.
