Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, used his social media platform on August 7, 2025, to criticize recent actions in the Texas legislature.
On August 7, Harrison posted a brief statement: “Evil.” Later that evening, he commented on Speaker Burrows’ approach toward Democratic lawmakers who had left the state. In his post at 22:41 UTC, Harrison wrote: “WHAT A JOKE! Speaker Burrows is “getting tough”… By making the Democrats pick up their paychecks… In person… Whenever they get back to Texas. “
Continuing his criticism shortly after, Harrison added at 22:52 UTC: “And here I was thinking that taking their parking spots away would’ve been the biggest non-punishment they could come up. I clearly underestimated their creativity at coming up with non-punishments!”
Harrison has represented Texas’s 10th House district since winning a special election in 2021 following Jake Ellzey’s departure from the seat.
