Brian Harrison, a commentator on social media, recently expressed his concerns over certain actions taken by the Texas government. Through a series of tweets, he voiced his disapproval regarding the state’s policies and decisions.
On July 2, 2025, Harrison tweeted about the Texas government’s use of taxpayer money to promote open marriages. He shared his disbelief with the statement “Just when you think it can’t get more insane… the TEXAS GOVERNMENT is spending your tax dollars to promote… OPEN MARRIAGES.”
Continuing his critique on July 3, 2025, Harrison compared Texas’ fiscal strategies to those of California. He criticized Texas for imposing taxes that might drive residents out of their homes while providing substantial financial support to Hollywood. He described this approach as embarrassing and infuriating: “The Texas government is literally following CALIFORNIA’S lead by taxing Texans out of their homes to give billions to liberal Hollywood. How embarrassing. How pathetic. How infuriating.”
Later that same day, Harrison emphasized what he believes should be the primary responsibility of any government—protecting freedoms and liberties. He accused the Texas government of neglecting this duty with his tweet: “The number one job of government is to protect our freedoms and liberties. The Texas government has completely forgotten that.”
Harrison’s comments highlight ongoing debates in state governance about fiscal responsibility and personal freedoms.
