Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, criticized Speaker Burrows and Democratic lawmakers in a series of posts on August 6, 2025.
In his first post, Harrison wrote: “ALL TALK! Speaker Burrows has not even removed Gene Wu from the Redistricting Committee… Or revoked his CO-CHAIRMANSHIP of the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee! Don’t forget… Speaker Burrows was elected by DEMOCRATS… and RELEASED THE DEMOCRATS to flee last Wednesday. https://t.co/wU8Of1ZLmD” (August 6, 2025).
A few minutes later, Harrison shared two links without additional commentary: “https://t.co/xrKp53ZqtF https://t.co/Fw0jdITDCm” (August 6, 2025).
Later that day, he posted: “If Texas had bold, fearless Republican leadership… 1) The quorum break would have been stopped BEFORE it started, and 2) The democrats would’ve been punished and brought back.” (August 6, 2025).
Harrison was elected to the Texas State House in a special election in 2021 after Jake Ellzey vacated the seat. As a legislator, he has positioned himself as an advocate for strong Republican leadership within the chamber.
