Brian Harrison, a Republican representing Texas’s 10th House district since 2021, used his Twitter account on July 30, 2025, to comment on ongoing developments in the Texas House regarding redistricting and legislative procedures.
In his first post of the day, Harrison criticized what he described as stalling tactics by lawmakers in Austin. On July 30, 2025, he wrote: “Great… we have a map. Time to stop the Austin uniparty’s games, delays, foot dragging, DNC scripted hearings… And let’s vote… NOW!”
Later that day, Harrison addressed the issue of quorum and party strategy in another tweet. On July 30, 2025, he stated: “Fact: There are many tools available to Republicans to force Democrats to show up and avoid a quorum break that would stop redistricting. If redistricting fails, it will not fail because of Democrats… it will fail because Republican leadership in Texas chose not to stop them.”
Harrison also commented on the brevity of a recent legislative session and its lack of substantive action. On July 30, 2025, he posted: “The Texas House floor session today lasted only SEVEN MINUTES… And the only thing we did was vote to ADJOURN UNTIL MONDAY… when the special session will be half over! No action on property taxes… no action on redistricting… total betrayal. The vote was 117-14.”
Harrison has represented District 10 in the Texas State House since winning election in 2021 after Jake Ellzey vacated the seat.
