Brian Harrison, a Republican elected to the Texas State House in 2021 representing the state’s 10th House district, used his social media platform on September 1 and 2, 2025, to criticize recent legislative actions and government spending.

In a post dated September 1, Harrison expressed concern over new laws taking effect: “A lot of liberal, budget busting, surplus wasting, progressive, socialist, corporate welfare bills go into effect today. Government spending exploded this session… and guess what that means for your… TAXES! Ya… they’re goin up too. Betrayal. Texans deserve better.”

Later the same day, he addressed changes to legislative rules in another post: “Pure theater… not one of these rule changes will punish even a single Democrat for breaking quorum. And they can NOT bind a future legislature. Worse than a joke… Complete betrayal.”

On September 2, Harrison continued his criticism by commenting on upcoming votes in the Texas House: “This week, the Texas House will vote on a resolution to ‘punish quorum breaking Democrats’… that will punish exactly ZERO quorum breaking Democrats… AND… Will vote on a bill to provide ‘property tax relief’… that will lower exactly ZERO property tax bills.”

Harrison replaced Jake Ellzey as representative of Texas’s 10th House district following his election in 2021.
