Brian Harrison, a Republican state representative for Texas’s 10th House district, used his social media platform on September 3, 2025, to criticize recent legislative efforts regarding property tax relief and taxpayer-funded lobbying in Texas.

In a post published at 13:29 UTC, Harrison stated, “FACT: Neither the Senate’s ‘property tax relief’ bill (SB10), nor the House’s amendments to it, would lower even one Texan’s property tax bill.” He followed up with another message at 14:28 UTC addressing actions by Speaker Burrows: “Speaker Burrows has apparently stopped the bill to ban taxpayer funded lobbying. He was elected by Democrats, advanced Democrat bills, released the Democrats to break quorum, and refused to punish the Democrats… He never should’ve been Speaker, and he should’ve been VACATED.”

Later that day at 16:11 UTC, Harrison posted an additional update expressing his frustration over ongoing debates in Austin about property taxes. He wrote: “I’ve had it! Texans deserve the TRUTH about the fake ‘property tax relief’ that’s being debated in Austin… And why your property taxes are going to INCREASE. This video update is longer than usual. Hope it helps…”

Harrison was elected to the Texas State House in 2021 after replacing Jake Ellzey as representative of District 10.
