Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, posted several critiques on September 2, 2025, regarding recent legislative actions in Texas.
On his social media account, Harrison expressed strong disapproval of the current legislative session: “If you care about limited government, fiscal restraint, ending corporate welfare, and low taxes… the 89th is probably the worst session in history.
Government exploded.
Liberty shrunk.
The Texas Senate supported it all.
And the Texas House was NOT reformed in any way.” (September 2, 2025)
Later that day, he commented on property tax legislation being discussed by lawmakers: “The “property tax relief” bill being debated right now (SB10)… will NOT cut property taxes.
Total betrayal. https://t.co/TRJDiNaJ2E” (September 2, 2025)
Harrison also addressed efforts to ban taxpayer-funded lobbying in Texas. He wrote: “There is one person ultimately responsible for stopping the ban on taxpayer funded lobbying:
Speaker Burrows.
He has the power to put that bill on the floor… but is CHOOSING not to.
(Probably part of his deal with the Democrats, who elected him.)” (September 2, 2025)
Harrison has served as a state representative since winning a special election in 2021 to succeed Jake Ellzey as representative for Texas’s 10th House district.
