Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, posted several statements on his Twitter account on August 1, 2025, expressing criticism regarding recent legislative actions on property taxes.
In one post at 14:38 UTC, Harrison addressed what he termed as misconceptions in state tax policy: “PSA for the Austin uniparty: slowing the rate of property tax growth is NOT a ‘property tax cut.’ Good grief.”
Later that day at 14:59 UTC, he made another statement questioning the commitment of certain legislators to property tax reform. He wrote: “FACT: any TxLege Republican who voted for the budget… is NOT serious about cutting (or eliminating) property taxes.”
Harrison also shared a third tweet at 15:00 UTC linking to an external video with a brief prompt to view it: “Watch: https://t.co/kx1giCdPKg”
Harrison was elected in 2021 to fill the seat vacated by Jake Ellzey and has since positioned himself as an advocate for significant changes in Texas’ property tax system.
