Brian Harrison, a political figure known for his outspoken views, recently took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the current legislative session in Austin. In a series of tweets, Harrison criticized the actions and policies of the Texas government, focusing on issues such as government growth, corporate welfare, and media portrayal of political figures.
On June 5th, Harrison voiced concerns about what he perceives as misleading narratives from political circles in Austin. He stated “I’m starting to think the Austin uniparty is having a competition to see who can do the most gaslighting about how ‘conservative’ this session was.” According to him, despite claims of conservatism, “Government grew,” “Liberty shrunk,” “Property taxes are going up,” and “Texans are less free.”
Later that day, Harrison continued his critique by highlighting fiscal decisions made by the Texas government. He tweeted “Instead of ending corporate welfare, the Texas government spent most of the surplus on it… including for liberal Hollywood.” He concluded emphatically with a call to action: “End. Corporate. Welfare.”
On June 6th, Harrison commented on media coverage of politicians who align with Democratic ideals while being labeled as conservatives. He wrote “If you govern how Democrats want, you too can get glowing profiles by leftists rags.” Citing an article from @TexasTribune, he remarked that “the only thing the caucus was united in was passing big government liberalism.”
