Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 10, used his social media account to question the leadership decisions within the Texas Legislature in a series of posts on March 23 and 24, 2026.

On March 23, Harrison posed a pointed inquiry regarding fellow lawmakers: “Serious question: why isn’t EVERY TxLege Republican demanding that Speaker Burrows strip Talarico from the House leadership positions he (indefensibly) gave Talarico??” The same day, he posted two links without additional commentary: “https://t.co/RDijOPijjG https://t.co/SiZWPpLnmd”.

Continuing his criticism on March 24, Harrison wrote: “Correct… The (Democrat elected) “Republican” Texas House Speaker empowered James Talarico, gave Talarico two powerful Vice Chairmanships, and forced Texas taxpayers to aide Talarico’s rise to the Democrat Senate nomination.”

Harrison was elected to represent Texas’ 10th House district in 2021 after Jake Ellzey vacated the seat. As a Republican legislator, Harrison has been vocal about party alignment and internal legislative decisions.

The recent statements reflect ongoing debates within the Texas Legislature over bipartisan appointments and party loyalty. Speaker Burrows’ assignment of vice chairmanships to James Talarico—a Democratic lawmaker—has drawn criticism from some members of his own party.
