Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, publicly questioned Texas A&M University School of Law and its associated institution over recently deleted tweets he claims advocated for illegal, unconstitutional, and race-based hiring practices by a newly hired staff member.
On March 31, 2026, Harrison wrote on his X account: “Still waiting for @teainfo and @TAMULawSchool to defend the (recently DELETED) tweets advocating for illegal, unconstitutional, and RACE-BASED hiring practices from the guy they both hired.
Texas taxpayers are paying his salary. https://t.co/2xphfhVppS“
He followed up one minute later with another post stating: “Read his deleted DEI tweets here: https://t.co/JkHNALeCc8”.
In a subsequent tweet on March 31, 2026, Harrison tagged several public officials and organizations including Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the U.S. Department of Education: “Cc: @GregAbbott_TX @HarmeetKDhillon @AAGDhillon @CivilRights @AGPamBondi @usedgov @DanPatrick @tamusystem https://t.co/YxglZSozLG”.
Harrison was elected to his current office in a special election in 2021 after Jake Ellzey vacated the seat. As an active state legislator, Harrison has frequently commented on education policy and university governance issues in Texas.
