Brian Harrison, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 10th district since 2021, voiced strong opposition to government expansion and policies he views as reducing individual liberty in a series of posts on August 2, 2025.
In his first post, Harrison stated: “I will fight loudly in TxLege against bills that grow government, increase spending and socialism, or reduce liberty… And no… I do not care which “Republican” is proposing it.” (August 2, 2025).
Later that evening, Harrison criticized an unspecified legislative proposal with the following remarks: “It’s terrible. Grows government. Reduces liberty. Turns law abiding Texans into criminals. Helps the drug cartels. It should be defeated or vetoed.” (August 2, 2025).
He concluded his public statements for the day by urging lawmakers to “STOP GROWING GOVERNMENT!” (August 2, 2025).
Harrison was elected to the Texas State House in 2021 after succeeding Jake Ellzey as representative for District 10.
