David Cook, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 96th district since 2021, has recently shared several posts on his social media account addressing education and community service in Texas.
On April 6, 2026, Cook directed his followers to further information by posting, “Read more about it here: https://t.co/sJjAnbiL0d”.
The following day, on April 7, 2026, he commented on educational content in Texas public schools. He stated, “The radical Left can’t comprehend Texas public schools requiring educators to teach Texas history, meditations on love from the Bible, or the ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar.’ https://t.co/hllhqu1cN7”.
On April 8, 2026, Cook highlighted local community efforts in Waco. He wrote, “COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT For more than three decades, Pastor Jimmy Dorrell and Church Under the Bridge have brought church to the streets of Waco, walking alongside the homeless and hurting with grace and humility. Even as he steps into retirement from pastoring under the bridge,”.
Cook was elected to represent Texas’s 96th House district in 2021 after succeeding Bill Zedler. Since then, he has used his platform to comment on both policy issues and local initiatives.
