David Cook, a member of the Texas State House, recently shared updates on his legislative activities and community engagements through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On February 6, 2026, Cook expressed appreciation for recognition from the National Rifle Association (NRA), stating: “The @NRA was founded over 150 years ago in 1871 and has been a standard-bearer for gun owners ever since. I sincerely appreciate the “A” rating I received from the NRA and I look forward to continuing to defend Texans’ 2A rights in the Senate. #txlege”

Later that day, Cook highlighted his participation at a local political event hosted by McLennan County Republican Women. In his post dated February 6, he wrote: “Great evening with the McLennan County Republican Women at last night’s Candidate Meet and Greet! Thank You to the Women of @MCRWPAC for hosting and giving us an opportunity to talk directly with our voters AND for the tireless grassroots work y’all do to keep McLennan County”

On February 7, Cook noted Team Cook’s involvement in presenting a Texas House Resolution during a groundbreaking ceremony for Center Mansfield’s new Centralized Campus. He stated: “Team Cook was proud to present a Texas House Resolution to @CenterMansfield as they broke ground on their new Centralized Campus. The Mansfield Mission Center serves our neighbors with healthcare services, a food market, financial and employment coaching, and a thrift store that”

David Cook is a Republican who was elected in 2021 to represent Texas’ 96th House district after succeeding Bill Zedler.
