David Cook, a Republican who has represented Texas’ 96th House district since 2021, has used his social media platform to highlight endorsements and policy priorities as he campaigns for State Senate District 22.
On February 9, 2026, Cook announced support from a key industry group: “The Hammer & Nails PAC represents the Texas homebuilders and skilled tradesmen who keep our state growing and help make the dream of homeownership possible for Texas families. I’m grateful to earn their endorsement in my race for SD-22 and proud to stand with the workers who”.
In another post dated February 11, 2026, Cook addressed property tax issues: “I passed the largest property tax cut in Texas’ history, but for far too long tax relief has been gobbled up by higher appraisals and wasteful government spending. As your next State Senator, I’ll fight for lasting property tax relief and use my business experience to cut waste”.
Later that same day, Cook emphasized his support for law enforcement by sharing several recent endorsements: “Texas Backs the Blue, and so do I. I’m proud to be endorsed by the @WacoPoliceAssoc, McLennan County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Association, @TCLEAFWTX, @DPSOA, @CLEAT, and @TMPALegislative. I will always fight to ensure our officers have the resources, training, and support”.
Cook succeeded Bill Zedler in representing Texas’ 96th House district after being elected in 2021. His campaign messaging focuses on securing endorsements from trade groups and law enforcement organizations while advocating for fiscal policies such as property tax relief.
