David Cook, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 96th district, recently shared several updates on legislative achievements and community news via his Twitter account.
On July 30, 2025, Cook expressed appreciation for support from the Texas Home School Coalition, stating: “I’m grateful for the endorsement of the @thsc. I believe parents have a fundamental Constitutional right to direct their children’s education without government interference. That’s why we filed and passed HB 2674 this Session, which prohibits government regulation of home school”.
The following day, July 31, 2025, Cook highlighted his collaboration with fellow lawmaker Shelley Luther: “Rep. @ShelleyLuther is a fierce defender of our Conservative values and Constitutional liberties. This session, I was proud to coauthor and work alongside her to pass HB 3441, which holds vaccine manufacturers liable if that advertise a harmful vaccine in Texas. I’m proud to have”.
Later that same day, Cook spotlighted local conservation efforts at a Waco zoo: ” Community Spotlight
I’m proud to see our Texas zoos making headlines with conservation success! The @CamParkZoo is a fun, family-friendly place doing meaningful work right here in Waco! “.
Cook was elected in 2021 to represent the state’s 96th House district after succeeding Bill Zedler.
