David Cook, a member of the Texas State House representing the 96th district since 2021, posted a series of messages on social media between May 25 and May 27, 2026. The posts addressed Memorial Day commemorations, Election Day in Texas, and congratulated Ken Paxton on his Senate primary victory.
On May 25, Cook reflected on Memorial Day by stating: “This Memorial Day, we remember the Brave Men and Women who gave their lives in defense of our Nation and the Freedoms we hold dear. The following day, as Texans headed to the polls for statewide elections, Cook encouraged voter participation with a message: “Election Day is here, Texas. Today is your opportunity to vote for strong Conservative leadership and keep Texas on the RIGHT track. Polls are open until 7:00 PM. Make your voice heard and vote Republican. #GOTV Find your polling place at @VoteTexas https://t.co/LvPFyKB11K” (May 26).
On May 27, after election results were announced in several races across Texas—including the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate—Cook posted congratulations to Ken Paxton: “Congratulations to @KenPaxtonTX on a resounding victory in the race for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate! Texas has certainly benefitted from your decisive voice for Conservative values as Attorney General. I look forward to more to come in the U.S. Senate! Time for the”.
Cook has served as state representative since replacing Bill Zedler in 2021 as a Republican legislator.
