On May 27, after election results were announced in several races across Texas—including the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate—Cook posted congratulations to Ken Paxton: “Congratulations to @KenPaxtonTX on a resounding victory in the race for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate! Texas has certainly benefitted from your decisive voice for Conservative values as Attorney General. I look forward to more to come in the U.S. Senate! Time for the”.

Cook has served as state representative since replacing Bill Zedler in 2021 as a Republican legislator.
