David Cook, a member of the Texas State House, has recently made several statements on social media addressing issues related to state law and education. Cook, who was elected in 2021 as a Republican representing Texas’ 96th House district, used his platform to discuss legislative priorities and scholarship opportunities.

On March 10, 2026, Cook posted: “I’m proud to stand with the Founding Members of the Sharia Free Texas Caucus. In Texas, our laws are rooted in the Constitution and the freedoms it protects—not in any foreign, religious system. Sharia is derived from the Quran and Hadith and is completely incompatible with the”.

Later that day, he highlighted recent results from a primary ballot measure: “What’s also notable is the highest-performing ballot measure: 95% of Texas Republican primary voters agreed to BAN SHARIA LAW.”

On March 11, 2026, Cook shifted focus to educational opportunities for students interested in military service: “I’m honored to nominate one outstanding student for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP). This scholarship provides up to $30,000 for students who are ready to answer the call to serve in the Texas or United States Armed Forces after graduation. If you’re”.

Cook succeeded Bill Zedler when he was elected as state representative for District 96 in 2021.
