David Cook, a Republican and current member of the Texas State House, has made several public statements on social media outlining his legislative priorities and recent endorsements.

The following day, on February 12, 2026, Cook addressed criminal justice policy and called for cooperation among southern states in challenging federal authority regarding capital punishment for child rape. He wrote: “Texas MUST band together with states like Alabama and Florida to challenge the Supreme Court and make one of the most heinous crimes imaginable, child rape, punishable by death.

On February 13, 2026, Cook shared news about receiving support from local first responders. He posted: “I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Waco Professional Firefighters Association in our race for SD 22. David Cook was elected as a Republican representative for Texas’s 96th House district in 2021 after replacing Bill Zedler. Since taking office he has been active in state politics and is now seeking election to represent Senate District 22.
