Rep. Jake Ellzey, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Texas’ 6th District, shared updates on his recent activities through social media posts dated May 20 and May 21, 2025. These tweets provide insights into his engagements and initiatives both in Washington D.C. and within his district.

On May 20, Ellzey reflected on a chance encounter during a busy day in Washington D.C. He had a scheduled meeting with the American Society for Radiation Oncology when he unexpectedly met Dr. Jonathan Bear, a former Navy colleague. “It’s a busy day in Washington, but every now and then, you’re reminded just how small the world really is.”

Later that day, Ellzey reported the success of a local event aimed at easing access to passport services for constituents who would otherwise need to travel to Dallas. He expressed gratitude towards the Dallas Passport Office and his staff for their roles in making this initiative successful. “Passport day was a success! Today over 100 folks got their passports started without having to go to Dallas.”

The following day, on May 21, Ellzey welcomed constituents visiting Washington D.C., highlighting an informal visit from Brenda Holland from his district. He extended an open invitation to other district members visiting the capital to stop by his office for a chat or simply to say hello. “My office is your office! If you’re from our district and find yourself in Washington, I hope you’ll stop by.”

Jake Ellzey has represented Texas’ 6th District since replacing Ron Wright in Congress in 2021 after previously serving in the Texas House of Representatives.
