The Cultural Arts and Heritage Commission is responsible for promoting and supporting the arts and historic preservation in the City. This includes working with various organizations, providing a biennial “state of the arts and heritage” report to the City Council, and recommending how city funds—especially those from hotel occupancy taxes—should be used to support these efforts. The Commission also ensures compliance with funding laws, sets criteria and processes for applying and renewing funding, and establishes reporting requirements for funded organizations, including financial accountability. Additionally, it advises the City Council on related programs and initiatives.
