Johnson County has released documentation describing the application process for the Small Business Recovery Grant.
The grant is designed to help small businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. To qualify, the business must be located in the unincorporated area of Johnson County. The company must have 20 employees or fewer and must not have received financial assistance from the CARES Act or any other grant program.
The company must have a physical location where employees conduct business. Franchise businesses are allowed to apply as long as they are locally owned.
An owner of multiple companies may apply for up to three businesses. To be considered the owner, the applicant must own 50% or more of the company.
The business must not have any notable tax liens and the applicant’s company must have been a registered business since Jan. 1.
The deadline for applications is Aug. 15 at 5 p.m.
