Eat, Drink, Cowtown, a festival celebrating the unique culture of the city of Fort Worth, its restaurants and food/beverage service workers, will be held during the week of Oct. 19-25.

A report in the Fort Worth City website said this year's celebration is meant to salute the resiliency of hospitality industry workers who have stayed at their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued to make Fort Worth a viable economy.

“The pandemic has been particularly cruel to the service industry, and we want to take a moment to support them for all they do for the festival, for local patrons, for nonprofit events year in and year out,” festival co-founder Russell Kirkpatrick said. “Now is the time to let your local restaurants and bars know that you want them to stick around.”

Eat, Drink, Cowtown will take the place of the 2020 Fort Worth plus Wine Festival, which was cancelled this year because of the pandemic. Patrons will be allowed to partake of curbside or delivery specials from participating restaurants and bars.

“We’re showcasing all the good things to eat and drink around town and remind the community how incredible our local restaurants and bars are,” Judy Eastman, festival executive director, said. “We’re highlighting the robust talent and hospitality in Cowtown, inviting patrons to visit as many local restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries and wineries as safely as possible. We’re all in this together, and we’re strong because we’re locals supporting locals.”

Family-style meals can be purchased as well as different daily offerings and food-and-drink pairings, the report said.
