If you’re planning a night of spooks, skeletons and sweets, make sure you are protecting yourself and loved ones from COVID-19 this Halloween.

The CDC and Dallas County have determined that many traditional Halloween activities can be high-risk for spreading COVID-19. There are several safer, alternative ways to participate in Halloween. Consider these fun alternatives that pose a lower risk of spreading COVID-19:

High-Risk

• Large gatherings or parties

• Door-to-door trick or treating

• Trunk or treating events

• Crowded indoor events (bars)

• Haunted house attractions

Low-Risk

• Online parties/Costume contests

• Car parades – Check out Candy Caravan at Dallas Heritage Village!

• Halloween movie nights

• Halloween-themed meals

• At-home candy scavenger hunt

However, you choose to celebrate this it’s important that you remember to:

WEAR YOUR MASK and make sure it covers your nose AND mouth.

WATCH YOUR DISTANCE and remain at least 6 feet away from others.

WASH YOUR HANDS frequently with either alcohol hand gel or soap and water.

GET YOUR FLU SHOT 2 weeks before Halloween to make sure you are protected.

Stay safe and have a spooktacular time!
