The Burleson City Council approved a plan to double the size of Old Town's core by constructing buildings totaling 50,000 square feet of multi-use space in the area.

The Dec 14 vote approved a public-private partnership with BTX Old Town. The development will take place in two separate locations in Old Town, both on Ellison Street. At 135 W. Ellison St., seven buildings will total 30,000 square feet of retail space and 22,000 square feet of space for offices. A tenant has already been signed on for this location. The other development at 114 W. Ellison St. will feature 5,500 square feet of retail space and 5,500 square feet of space for office use.

"We are excited to bring another quality development to our community," Burleson Mayor Chris Fletcher said. "We look forward to welcoming Heim Barbecue to Old Town, as we continue our goal to bring great places to eat, shop and work to our city.”
