Champs Named in 2022 Cleburne Golf Tournaments

Three golfers came out on top after the City of Cleburne hosted its annual golf championship games.

Steve Riza won the men’s tournament, Dale Furtick was the championship for the senior tournament, and Kim Bice won it all in the ladies tournament.

Riza is a three-time champion of the Cleburne Men’s Golf Championship, which was held Sept. 24-25. He won the titles in 2013 and 2006 as well. His two-day total this year was 143, one stroke under par.

For Furtick, his championship title for the senior game is a first. He had a two-day total of 138, six under par, to outlast former champions Riza and Don Akins, Jr. The senior tournament was open to men and women ages 55 and over. The competition was held Sept. 17-18. This year's field of 34 golfers was the largest field for the Senior Championship since the tournament began in 2011.

Not to be outdone by the men, Bice had a solid two days of play at the Ladies Championship. She had a total of 174 to beat out the competition. The tournament, played Sept. 10-11, was the first ladies tournament since 2014.

The champions and top scorers received a trophy and golf shop credit prizes. View more details about the City of Cleburne Golf Championships here.
