Appointment of Councilmember Ward III Position
Councilmember Robert Cooper submitted his resignation from his seat on the City Council on December 15, 2022, effectively vacating the City Council Ward III position.
To fill the vacancy, the City Council is inviting interested and qualified persons willing to serve in this capacity to submit the form on the website (link below) or at Keene City Hall along with a letter of interest for the Council’s consideration. The vacancy is for the unexpired term until the November 6, 2023, General Election.

City Council is scheduled to consider candidates at the Feb. 2, 2023, regular council meeting.
Qualifications to Serve
The qualifications for Councilmember Ward III are in accordance with the City Charter and state law:
*A registered voter of the City;
*Reside within the boundary of Ward 3 for at least one (1) year and continue residency in the City and the ward in which he or she represents during the term of office;
*A resident of the City for at least one (1) year and continue residency in the City during the term of office;
*Not hold more than one public elective office;
*Not hold an appointed office of the City, excluding boards, committees, and commissions;
*At least 21 years of age;
*Not currently be subject to a finding of mental incompetence by a final judgment of a court; and
*Has not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities.

Submissions
All interested and qualified persons must submit the interest form on the website and a letter of interest to the City Secretary at citysecretary@keenetx.com by Friday, January 20, 2023, at 5 p.m.
