There were 449 white students enrolled in Ferris ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ferris ISD schools welcomed 2,716 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 16.5% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Ferris ISD roughly covers schools within Ellis County and has a main office in Ferris.

Among the six schools in Ferris ISD schools, Ferris High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 128 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
