In Waco, Texas, the No. 7 ranked TCU equestrian team was defeated by Baylor with a score of 11-8 on Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center. This meet marked TCU’s final true road contest of the season.
TCU, now holding a 6-5 record, managed to secure a 3-2 win in Fences and tied Baylor in Reining. Sydney Sargent achieved her first career Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honor during the meet.
Baylor gained an early advantage by winning the Flat event 3-2. TCU riders Madi Lo Porto and Lex Lipacis earned points for their team in this event.
In Reining, both teams took two points each. Sydney Sargent and Cassie Hacking scored for TCU, while Calla Thomas finished her ride with a tie.
The second half of the competition saw Baylor pull ahead by taking Horsemanship 4-1. Sydney Feager secured the only point for TCU in this discipline.
During the last event, TCU claimed three points from Maggie Dumrauf, Lilly Goldstein, and Lex Lipacis to set the final score at 11-8 in favor of Baylor.
Following this result, TCU’s all-time record against Baylor stands at 14 wins and 27 losses.
Notable performances included Maggie Dumrauf tying her career high in Fences with a score of 84.5. Lex Lipacis extended her winning streak on the Flat to three consecutive victories. Sydney Sargent received her first MOP award in Reining, while Cassie Hacking recorded her fourth straight win in that event.
TCU will next host No. 8 Fresno State on Thursday, February 26 at 10 AM for Senior Day.
