The TCU equestrian team will begin postseason competition against No. 8 Fresno State in the opening round of the Big 12 Championships, according to a March 26 announcement. The matchup is scheduled for Friday at Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center and marks the third meeting between the two teams this season.
This event holds significance as TCU, currently ranked seventh with a record of 7-5, aims to secure its place in the upcoming National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Championships. The Horned Frogs are seeking to build on their momentum from five consecutive winning seasons, which is a program record.
If TCU advances past Fresno State, they will compete against either top-seeded Oklahoma State or fourth-seeded Baylor in the next round. The first-round match is set to begin at 10 a.m.
Several athletes have contributed standout performances throughout the season. Kaylene Cunningham, Hanna Dolan, Sydney Feager, Lilly Goldstein, Cassie Hacking, Lex Lipacis, Lannie-Jo Lisac, Lily Muzzy, Piper Keller, Tatum Keller, Sydney Sargent, Calla Thomas and Victoria Zahorik have all earned Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors across various events including reining, flat and fences. High point scores for TCU include Jordyn Scelsa with an 88 in fences and Lilly Goldstein with a score of 94 in flat.
While TCU has reached five straight Big 12 Championship tournaments and maintained consistent success during regular seasons over recent years, they continue their pursuit of a first conference title.
