TCU equestrian lost to top-seeded Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship on March 28 at Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center.
The match saw Oklahoma State win all four events, resulting in a final score of 14-5. Cassie Hacking of TCU was named the Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) in Reining after the meet.
During the competition, Fences and Horsemanship were held at the same time. Kyla Sullivan secured TCU’s only point in Fences, marking her first career victory. In Horsemanship, Piper Keller added another point for TCU with a score of 75.5.
On the Flat, Hanna Dolan earned a point with a score of 73.33, while Madi Lo Porto drew her ride; however, by that stage, Oklahoma State had already clinched the win. The day ended with points from Cassie Hacking and Sydney Sargent for TCU in Reining.
According to team records, TCU now holds an all-time record of 18-30 against Oklahoma State and has competed in six consecutive Big 12 Championships. Three out of five point scorers for TCU are underclassmen and none are seniors. Hacking also extended her winning streak to seven meets in reining.
TCU will now wait for its draw for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Championships, which is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
