A rivalry in collegiate equestrian will resume this Saturday as the seventh-ranked TCU Horned Frogs travel to face Baylor at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

In their previous matchup this season, TCU secured an 11-8 win over Baylor. However, Baylor leads the all-time series with a record of 26-13.

TCU enters the competition with a 6-4 record after narrowly losing to No. 6 Oklahoma State last week, ending a four-meet winning streak. Baylor comes into the meet with a 1-7 overall record and has not competed in over two weeks since falling to Oklahoma State at home. Their only victory this season was against Fresno State in Waco.

Freshman Cassie Hacking continues to stand out for TCU, having received her second Big 12 Rider of the Month award for Reining in January. She previously earned the honor in October following strong performances against Baylor and Auburn.

This season, TCU has faced a challenging schedule, competing against NCEA Top-10 opponents in nine out of ten meets. Five of their six wins have been secured against ranked teams.

Several Horned Frogs riders have also achieved Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors across various events this year: Kaylene Cunningham (Reining), Hanna Dolan (Flat), Sydney Feager (Horsemanship), Lilly Goldstein (Fences and Flat), Cassie Hacking (Reining), Lex Lipacis (Fences and Flat), Lannie-Jo Lisac (Reining), Lily Muzzy (Fences), Piper Keller (Horsemanship), Tatum Keller (Horsemanship), Calla Thomas (Reining and Horsemanship), and Victoria Zahorik (Flat).

High point scores for TCU so far include Jordyn Scelsa with an 88 in Fences, Lilly Goldstein scoring 94 on Flat, Sydney Feager and Piper Keller each posting a 77.5 in Horsemanship, and Cassie Hacking earning a 73.75 in Reining.

The outcome of Saturday’s meet will play a role as both teams approach the end of their regular seasons.
