Tarrant County officials are using new software that will automate many tasks that have been done manually.

The Development Services Department’s Contract Management and Platting sections have teamed up and created a new pilot program that will convert documents into an electronic recording. The new software will be in use this month.

According to Tarrant County officials, most of the documents that can be converted into electronic recordings are "encroachment agreements, unified sign agreements, maintenance agreements, stormwater facilities maintenance agreements and plats," the Fort Worth website reads.

The new software will enable officials to convert .pdf documents to a .tiff format, automate steps that were previously done manually to save time and allow for manually authorizing escrow payments.

The new system will also automate communications and will free staff members who have had to send out hundreds of emails.
