GARLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT: Fire Investigators Observed Fall Decorations Burned Two Locations

 Garland Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov.3.

This morning just before 10 AM Garland police and fire investigators responded to an arson in the downtown Garland area. Fire investigators observed fall decorations burned two locations, the 600 block of W. State St., and, the 600 block of W. Main St. It was believed the fall decorations were intentionally set on fire. Arson Investigators recovered video from both incidents and were able to identify the suspect. At approximately 4 PM the male suspect was located near the library in the 600 block of Austin St. Investigators took the suspect into custody but due to his mental state, he was transported to a behavioral health hospital for treatment. His name is not being released at this time.
