The City of Mansfield has launched the Mansfield Connects Public Wi-Fi program.
To begin, seven locations have been launched around the city. The goal of the program is simple: to provide free wireless internet access to residents and visitors at various locations around the community.
Many of the first locations to launch have been in public parks, which helps to increase access for anyone in the community. High-speed internet access is also being made available in the Historic Downtown area to cater to those that frequent this area as well as visitors.
According to the City of Mansfield, the locations that are a part of the program are as follows:
• Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park – 1650 Matlock Road
• James McKnight Park East – 700 U.S. Highway 287 North
• Mans Best Field Dog Park – 610 W. Broad St.
• McClendon Park East – 740 W. Kimball St.
• McClendon Park West – 799 W. Broad St.
• Town Park – 500 N. Main St.
• Historic Downtown Mansfield
The city is planning to have three additional locations live by the end of the month. The funds to launch the program largely came from funds allocated to the city by the CARES Act.
