The freeze is upon us!

Beginning Thursday afternoon through Christmas weekend temps will drop below freezing.

Now is the time to make sure your pets will have safe and adequate shelter to protect them from the cold and prevent them from freezing! These temperatures are extremely dangerous for pets to be kept outside in.

Bring them in.

If for some reason you cannot have them in the house, ask a friend, neighbor or family member if they can house your pet during the freeze that's coming up.

The Crowley Animal Shelter does have some kennels we can loan out if it helps to keep pets warm and safe indoors.

An adequate shelter is sufficient for protecting the pet from the elements, keeping them dry and warm. The shelter is completely enclosed aside from an opening the animal can enter and exit from. Do not use blankets in outdoor dog houses as they get wet and freeze, use bedding or hay. However, even a dog house may not efficiently keep a pet safe in below freezing temps. Bring them inside.

If you have a kennel or dog house you no longer need or use - please consider donating them! We will accept kennels and dog houses at the Crowley Animal Shelter to supply for those in need.

Our address is 101 E. Hampton Rd., Crowley, TX 76036.

If you live in Crowley and wish to donate but can't come to the shelter, please let us know and we will pick them up.

If you are experiencing hardship and are in need of dog food/wet food or have questions about adequate shelter, please contact us 817-297-5160.
