The City of Cleburne's STARS program recognizes staff members who go above and beyond to help serve the community. The latest recipient of the All-Star Award is Brian Wintermeier, the facilities manager.

Although Wintermeier started his position in Cleburne in January, he has already proven to have a servant leader’s heart. Last month, during Liberty Classic weekend, he drove by the Cleburne Conference Center and noticed that the operations manager was still there. He went inside to see what the problem was.

The facility was hosting a banquet for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force academies the following day, but some employees had called in sick. Wintermeier ended up pitching in to clean, set up tables and chairs and perform various tasks.

“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to him for going over and above with his offer. This is the kind of team work that allows us to excel,” said Dena Bartlett, the operations manager who was helped.

She went on to say that he is the definition of a team player who goes above and beyond his duties.

For his outstanding work and exceptional service, Wintermeier received a City shirt and $50 gift card for winning the All-Star Award.

The award is usually given out monthly. Anyone can submit a nomination by contacting the employee’s department. Each All-Star winner for the fiscal year is then put into the running to become the City’s Superstar, which is the highest recognition in the STARS program.
