There were 5,498 students enrolled in Life School in the 2022-23 school year, 1.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.1% of them were girls, and 49.9% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Life School students was African American, accounting for 46% of the student population.

Life School roughly covers schools within Dallas County with its main office in Red Oak.

Among the eight schools in Life School, Life School Oak Cliff recorded the highest enrollment of 1,426 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
