There were eight American Indian students enrolled in Life School District in the 2021-22 school year, 14.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Life School District welcomed 5,558 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Life School District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Red Oak.

Among the eight schools in Life School District, Life School Red Oak recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of two students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
