There were 2,811 students enrolled in Godley ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 7.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.6% of them were boys, and 48.4% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 62.8% of the Godley ISD total enrollment.

Godley ISD roughly covers schools within Johnson County with its main office in Godley.

Among the six schools in Godley ISD, Godley High School recorded the highest enrollment of 777 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
