How many Asian students were enrolled in Ferris ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 10 Asian students enrolled in Ferris ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ferris ISD schools welcomed 2,716 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Ferris ISD roughly covers schools within Ellis County and has a main office in Ferris.

Among the six schools in Ferris ISD schools, Ferris High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of three students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
